Since 1987 Fågelcentralen has been one of Sweden’s largest non-profit rehabilitation operations for wild birds. It is a unique rescue operation with large aviaries for all kinds of bird species. Every year they receive over a thousand wild birds that have become injured or sick. It is not unusual for the injured birds to be among Sweden’s endangered bird species. The activities consist of wildlife rehabilitation, washing of oil-injured birds, mapping of wildlife diseases and injuries through statistics. They work in close contact with veterinarians, animal caretakers and ornithologists. The aim is to return the birds to nature.
