The shoehorn is a realistic depiction of the great spotted woodpecker where the tail feathers have been extended and shaped as a shoehorn. The enclosed leather strap makes it easy to hang on a hook. There are several different versions of the shoehorn from Wildlife Garden.

About the great spotted woodpecker
The great spotted woodpecker has a bouncy flight and distinctive colours that makes it easy to spot. They are common in woodlands and parks but will also feed from bird tables. Their presence can be heard from their distinct drumming display in spring. Young juveniles have a red forehead, the adult male has a red nape whereas the females have no red on their heads making them easy to distinguish.

I gave my actual home address but for some unknown reason it was sent to a DPD drop point a significant distance from my house and being large package was very awkward to collect. No idea why this happened but it was extremely inconvenient. The tracking number I was issued never worked for me, and looking at it now I can see it featured the drop point Eircode instead of mine. Again, no idea why.
