Campfire Pan Original S4 from Stabilotherm. The Campfire Pan Original S4, is the largest in the series of classic “kolbullepannor”. The generous size makes it a favorite when several hungry mouths need to be fed. Despite its size, it’s easy to bring along, thanks to the folding handle. This model is equipped with a folding shaft and a handle made of birch, which makes it extra comfortable to hold.

Stabilotherms frying pans are manufactured in Sweden from carbon steel. Perfect for campfire use since the material withstands high temperatures. The more you use your pan, the better frying properties it will have. The inspiration for our frying pans goes way back and comes from the old Nordic dish called “kolbulle”. It was prepared in a frying pan by navvies, loggers, coal workers and other workman’s who worked long periods without access to fresh ingredients. Our frying pan began to be manufactured in Småland in the 1980s and is today a valued tool among hunters, fishermen and outdoorsmen.
Season your pan:
Now it’s time to season your new frying pan, to helps ensure a
non-stick surface. Oil the pan with a thin layer of cooking oil over the entire pan.
Place the frying pan straight into the fire. Leave it there until the oil starts to smoke and change color. Repeat the procedure 3-5 times.
If the pan starts to get dry, apply another thin layer of oil.
A seasoned pan turns brownish black, often lighter att he edges. Over time, it will get darker and more beautiful.

I gave my actual home address but for some unknown reason it was sent to a DPD drop point a significant distance from my house and being large package was very awkward to collect. No idea why this happened but it was extremely inconvenient. The tracking number I was issued never worked for me, and looking at it now I can see it featured the drop point Eircode instead of mine. Again, no idea why.
