About the leek
The leek is a biennial amaryllis plant native to the Mediterranean and the Middle East. It is resistant to cold and frost and can, therefore, grow wild as far away as Germany. Despite the name, leeks do not make actual bulbs but form a long cylinder of leaves that are used as they are or cooked.

I gave my actual home address but for some unknown reason it was sent to a DPD drop point a significant distance from my house and being large package was very awkward to collect. No idea why this happened but it was extremely inconvenient. The tracking number I was issued never worked for me, and looking at it now I can see it featured the drop point Eircode instead of mine. Again, no idea why.
